SPIFFA was convened in October 1990, incorporated in 1991 and continues to contribute to community education and public debate with the aim of helping to retain the last remaining, greatly diminished, biodiversity of Victoria's Mornington Peninsula region and the Nepean Peninsula, all part of Victoria's Westernport UNESCO Biosphere Reserve
This site is an ecological information, education and networking resource for individuals, students, friends groups, land care groups, students and private and public land managers with lots of content for the general browser too

SPIFFA meets at 7:30 pm on the 1st Monday of the month (but not November or January) at the Seawinds Community Hub (see a map here) The December meeting is the AGM at Hickinbotham's Winery in Dromana there's a guest speaker prior to the meetings and cake at intermission you may bring plants, foliage or flowers and have them identified (or anything else from the natural world as meetings attract a range of member expertise) our meetings are public, educational, usually brief and anyone's welcome people are welcome to attend the speaker's presentation and decamp before business |
