n.b. The zones where two or more vegetation communities meet and sometimes merge is known as an ecotonal overlap and is usually a node of high biodiversity values, where species from the different EVCs will occur together and so, naturally, this is also a likely place to find cultural sites with artifacts, whether objects or concentrations of edible plants (aboriginal people cultivated and propagated certain food plants, particularly tuberous species)
